This Needs Assessment Report is a result of study carried out on two main stages (levels):
1) “desk research” which studied existing analytical and regulatory documents with a focus on the hospitality industry or relationship (direct or indirect) to the research area;
2) Questionnaire-based survey whose target audience included key stakeholders – operators in the hospitality sector, their branch organizations or associations, researchers and lecturers from HEIs or vocational institutions.
Based on the results and conclusions drawn on the first stage and the quantitative data collected on the second stage, number of assumptions and recommendations are drafted. In regard to the sustainability, the latter put focus on the possibility for development of new tourism products and services as well as on the training opportunities for personnel and management of the enterprises from the hospitality sector in the Balkan – Mediterranean region.
A study and needs assessment for encouraging hospitality SMEs` sustainability was held in each of the project partner countries.
The national report is available in English and in a national language. Moreover, the national reports were used as a basis for the development of a regional NAR – also available on this website.
